Here we close “safely“: from the Riserva to the n.v. Brut, the enhancement of Franciacorta Ronco Calino wines also passes through the cork

From the organic management of the vineyard to the cellars activities, the imperative in Ronco Calino is to highlight the personality of each Franciacorta, which arise from the blending of several vineyard parcels, which are distinguished by soil, subsoil, slope, exposure, clone and rootstock.


The parceled vinification in small steel vats and french oak barriques allows us to understand and optimize the unique inheritance of each of them, uniqueness that is alto highlighted in all the production phases, with calibrated and non-invasive choices. 


Among them, the exclusion ot the malolactic transformation and the decision to extend che aging periods on the yeasts, which start from a minimum of 30 months, so that the wines have time to develop and express their full potential.


Preciselty for this reason, to prevent a faulty closure from compromising the careful work carried out in the vineyard, since 2012 we have chosen to use Mytik DIAM technological corks from the DIAM Bouchage company and not to limit this choice to vintage or Riserva Franciacorta. 


Obtained from the cork flower, a renwable and durable material, DIAM corks are obtained thanks to DIAMANT®, a patented dearomatization process that exploits the "puryfing" properties of supercritical carbon dioxide to extract and neutralize over one hundred and fifty odorous molecules responsible for possible sensorial alterations into wines, in particular the dreaded "cork taste".


It is actually essential that our Ambassadors can count on a durable and "intact" wine, free from TCA and other deviations and have the guarantee of finding in the bottle exactly the Franciacorta we have conceived. 


Last but not least, a Mytik DIAM cork allows to lower the levels of sulfur dioxide because it "closes" more, preserving a controlled evolution of the wine which, in our case, observes a further rest in the bottle at least six months after disgorgement.
