Ronco Calino Franciacorta

The Rarities

A refreshing crispness to the nth degree marks this Franciacorta Extra Brut, whose very name specifies the number of months it spent sur lie in the cellar: 120. Only the magnum size is appropriate for this modest miracle of fine balance and impressive longevity.

Just as solemn and evocative as the notes of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s famed symphony, which figured among Maestro Benedetti Michelangeli’s favourite works. A collector’s wooden box presents twin bottles of the 2009 vintage, which matured 13 years sur lie.

Chardonnay (60%) exerts its influence, course, but Pinot Noir (40%) is likewise prominent in this invitation to discovery: gift box with six different vintages, from 2003 back to 1997, with maturation sur lie ranging from 90 to 162 months.

The Wines

Still wines are just as important today to Ronco Calino, embodying the ancient heritage of Franciacorta. Our Curtefrancas, Leànt and Ponènt, noble products of organic viticulture, are eagerly sought-after by their many aficionados, while L’Arturo Pinot Noir is a fitting tribute to the unique style of virtuoso Benedetti Michelangeli, unforgettable inhabitant of this corner of Franciacorta.
